Remember around 1995 the story that Prince had a tattoo of his symbol done on the space above his right ear, because he wanted to look "more street"?

Does anyone know if this is true, or just a PR stunt.

Only reason I ask is the I Like It There vid has reminded me of it.

I don't think it was a tattoo...though there's a pic in the Emancipation booklet where there's a space shaven above his ear, w/ what looks like a symbol tattoo on his scalp. I always just thought it was one of Prince's wacky little fashion experiments, so I never thought of it...was that a real tattoo?

yeah -- it looked like eyeliner, a la his "SLAVE" inscription.

I don't see Prince, at any stage, being a tattoo getting kinda guy. Ask Mani.

I don't think he would have gotten a tatoo. I was actually lucky enough to meet him and he did express to me that he doesn't approve or tatoos or piercings for that much.
He told me I should get mine removed. And it was of the symbol. Ofcourse I won't because I love it all too much and we share different beliefs in that subject.
