Who really is Madhouse While Eric did say that Madhouse was "basically Prince" and him playing horns... the Ascap database lists some other writers for a few of the songs (Sheila, Levi, and Eric).
Sheila is listed on 10 and 11. The rest only credit Prince. Although for some reason, not all the songs are listed (I only see 1, 2, 6, 7, 9 and 12 as well as 10 and 11).

Eric said that because Eric is correct. However, some did contribute to some of the writing.
The answers can be found here in previous posts (if only the Search facility worked), Turn It Up 2.0 and Days of Wild, and the Library of Congress copyright search database (which in my opinion is better than the ASCAP ACE search facility. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

And some of that material is actually credited to "Madhouse", who is in fact yet another one of Prince's pseudonyms. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Library of Congress Copyright Search database:
http://www.loc.gov/copyri.../cohm.html As with the ACE search database, try to be as precise as possible and use as many variants as possible. So search under, for example: paisley park christopher prince nelson, prince roger nelson, prince rogers rogers roger and keep refining. You'll find most everything you want and more. Two suggestions though. If you are into researching this stuff, the work already undertaken by Uptown and regularly revised saves a lot of time - I'd thoroughly recommend investment in Days of Wild and Turn it Up 2.0 http://www.uptown.se/2002/books.shtml Secondly, be aware that there are many songs listed with a Prince songwriting credit because samples of his work are being acknowledged. Again, this is where, Uptown's work comes into its own because they have sorted out the wheat from the chaff, by excluding those sampled songs in their discographies and songographies. However, I suggest you order 'Turn It Up 2.0', which is the revised edition and, as far as I'm concerned, is still in stock. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs.
