THE ALADDIN DVD IS EXCELLENT!

I don't know WHAT many of you have a problem with! Sure, the picture quality is not always perfect, but most of the time, it is great and I LOVE the rough feel.

It is a billion times better in every realm that the piece of crap that I now see RAVE 2000 as!

Who else agrees?

By the way, does anyone have the full setlist (in running order, of course) for this great show? By the way, I think the running time of 80 min, with a bonus track is great...just the right amount of time for a concert on video. Maybe a little longer would have been okay if it wasn't filler...but as it stands, NO FILLER, unlike Rave 2000. Bleargh.

I have never seen Prince seem so NORMAL and FUNNY! And musically he was inspired and virtuosic! Gotta love the crowds responses and the band vibe, too. I think it's possibly the best band he's had.

Cool!

Best LIVE band, that is.

None of his other bands had hits really either. Since it was all recorded by Prince, PRINCE had the hits.

And this band play the hits live just like any other he's had.

I like the performance in Vegas a lot better too... Rave is too polished and sometimes a little predictable (still with lots of great exceptions: Always in my hair, Purple House, the funky Kiss version, an inspired Purple Rain) Vegas is Prince as he wants to b seen - a musician with a tight band (he's really in control of it), being funky and having fun.
Too bad it's not the whole show though. The sound is ok - still adjustable to acceptable standards, but the picture is bad most of the time sad

Live At The ALADDIN is great, slow start with the first 3 tracks tho', the Nikki Costa song coulda been shoved 2wards the end of the concert, just personal taste I guess, but her Janis Joplin meets Yoko Ono wailin' ain't my cup of tea.

From "1+1+1=3" onwards, PRINCE and the NPG take no prisoners, fonkee like doo-doo. Rhonda's bass doesn't come across as crisp on 1+1+1=3 as it does on ONA-LIVE CD, but that's not her fault.
Great 2 see SHEILA E doin' what she does best, lookin' fine and beatin' the heck outta her sex cymbals.

"The Ride" is P @ his best, guitar playin' like nobobdy else's bizness.

Totally agree, it is excellent! And indeed. The Nikka Costa song would have been great if Prince had sung it, I really don't like Nikka's wailing towards the end of the song!
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

That Janis Joplin ripp off is very hard to listen to. She hollered all over that superb guitar work that Prince laid down. I really could have done without her. SHe isnt original

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Finally bought the DVD yesterday. After all the bashing going on here I was prepared for the worst. But thank god I can say that I enjoyed it a lot. The show is great, I think everybody can agree with that. The shaky picture doesn´t bother me too much. It´s kinda like in the "Undertaker"-video. I don´t think it´s all that bad.

LOVE IT! Does it have a few flaws, yes but I don't focus on the negative. Nikka is amazing, see her live before judging.
