Extra lovable / Oh Sheila

Does anyone think that Ready for the world heard an bootleg of extra lovable before coming up with Oh Sheila?

Actually,I've always felt that the groove from "Oh Sheila" was directly lifted from the 1983 Cameo single "Style".

Oh shit, I never noticed that!
"Oh, Oh, Sheila"
"Lady, cab driver"
Sounds exactly the same!

Now I'll have some weird lovechild of the two songs running through my head all day...

Oh,wow I never noticed that before,either!!

Another RFTW song that borrows heavily from Prince is their song "Baby (Let Me Love You)" from their 1986 album 'Long Time Coming'.Listen to the haunting synth line at the beginning...it sounds alot like "Little Red Corvette".

so many artists borrow and feed off things they've heard. Prince included . . . but they can still have merit. Melvin Riley is still trying to work his MoJo and i think his solo projects have been pretty good. You Complete Me, even though it used Minnie's song, was awesome!! i'm down for RFTW!!! and Oh Sheila was a great song, Digital Display too!! wink
