live at the BBC sept 7th 1993 just saw the thread on the bagleys warehouse gig in 1993 by 'nuttinbuttamuffin' and it mentioned the live performance at the bbc that morning and i wondered if anyone else went to that performance.
i managed to find someone in the queue who didn't have a partner (every ticket winner was given a password and could bring a friend/partner) and they let me go in with them. it was pretty short (maybe only 20 mins or so) but unlike any prince show i have ever seen. it was a really intimate room with what seemed like about twenty rows of seats. all of the house lights were on and u could see prince like it was daytime and he was wearing a purple jump suit type thing. also the sound of that room is the possibly the best sound of any gig i've ever heard before or since. amazingly i lost my tape of the show so i only have my memories of it but i just remember it being a blistering performance and thinking that he played 'dmsr' and 'america' a bit quicker than normal, which seemed to make them even more intense. i also remember there were no cameras in there, or certainly none that i could see. anyhow, if you were the person who got me in then i'd just like to say THANK YOU.

I tried desperately to get tickets through the phone in and subsequently I've heard of two people who managed to blag "guest passes" since. I remember the guy who ran dream nation (can't remember his name right now) boasting about getting in through just asking people in the line if they had a guest. can't believe it was ten years ago.

I skipped school to listen to it on the radio! I've got it on tape, an amazing little performance - packed full of energy, I can only imagine what it must have been like to be there.

He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Cool little show. I think that performance has a lot of energy plus he played The Pope which has only rarely been played live. (Is it The Rex aftershow that he plays it on? can't remember.)

Didn't hear it on the day and got it on tape a few days later. The version of Peach is a classic.
