hmmm...i dunno about your theory there, EWM. in retrospect, if you think about it, Emancipation and possibly TRC are now classic albums in keeping with his personal, spiritual and political views. i think those are the classics now. stuff like ONA piano and Expectation are not classics cuz they are just toss-offs. they may be good but they are not in keeping with his new attitudes.

I'm all for debate here on the Org, and I don't deny that Prince has put out some seriously shitty product in his day. I love that we question and analyze here instead of just dick-riding all the fucking time.

However, can we just have a fucking Yay thread? Can we? Can we just say Yay for chrissakes without someone pissing all over the parade?

Emancipation is in no way a classic album. Most people in the world don't even know what it is. And besides, can you listen to the whole thing whithout hitting the skip button once? Give me any album from the 80's and I can listen all the way through. Give me a 90's album, and my finger will get tired from hitting skip so many times. A classic album is one that you can just lay back and enjoy from start to finish without getting up in disgust cuz a track sucks so bad.

And TRC is only a classic album to the "fams". No one else out there gives a shit about it. Even most basic Prince fans thinks it sucks. That is the ultimate shit album for me cuz I hate every single track on it.
