A Dream about Prince

I dreamt about Prince last night. Over the years of being a fan I have had several dreams involving Prince, often involving great concerts, however this dream was different -- it was so realistic and intense.

(Disclaimer: anybody who has some shit negative or critical stuff to say about this post can go stick it. I dream what I dream, so be it.)

In my dream I was walking down a street. Kind of like an Australian suburban street, with a footpath and a nature strip, and houses with big front yards. I walked past Prince's place, not knowing before that he lived there. The place was white, with a large grass area and perhaps a few fountains out the front. The front of the house was open, being Asian-style with the lounge room being open to the patio. Prince was at the front of the house and when I saw him I thought I'd better go over and somehow convey what a big fan I am and how great I think he is in a way that he's never heard from a fan before (ha!). He was pretty open to me walking over and started chatting to me about himself and his music. I asked him about his popularty and his projects and he looked intensely at me and told me he wants a huge hit. He was desperate for a big hit. I asked him what he thought would give him that hit, and he couldn't answer me. He just looked at me and I could see in his expression how important it was to get a hit. He was vulnerable and real. His reasons didn't need explanation. I said to him that his last big album was Diamonds & Pearls, and asked him about why he thought that album was so successful. He didn't know. I suggest that it was due to straightforward tunes that were catchy -- not too sophisticated. I said to him that he needed to release a single that wasn't a ballad, that everything since Gett Off were ballads. But he was sure that he needed to release a ballad. I told him he needed a single that was funky and he glared at me questioning what the hell would I know of funk. I asked Prince where Mani was and told him I'd heard they'd got married. He said, oh she's out, but we're not married, just engaged.
The dream twisted a bit from here, and along the street walked four other Orgers, none of which I know. They joined me (and whoever I was with) so there were six of us talking to Prince. A couple of the Orgers were really excited about the whole situation and started asking Prince some glamourous questions. I took Prince to the side and asked him 'do you mind if i mention our meeting on the Org?', as in THE org, of which he sheepishly looked like he understood. He flipped out, and pranced about looking extremely nervous, like I had broken his trust. In fact throughout the whole meeting he seemed very scared of me, of me getting to know him at all. (Note: the Prince in the dream was quite like a different person to the Prince we 'know'). He ran around frantically until I grabbed him by the arm and told him I wouldn't mention it to the org. However, since the four other Orgers had come along they had other ideas and weren't so keen on respecting Prince's privacy. We left Prince's place and walked up the street. The dream got bizarre for a while, with hills, shopping centres and Prince still lurking around, but it was off the point. Afterwards I checked the Org and one of the four had posted a message about our meeting. It was under the title 'Excellent News', and showed a photo of the six of us sitting with Prince. The picture showed the six of us sitting on his patio, facing forwards. We were busy filling out some forms or feedback that Prince had given us. He sat in front of us, waiting for us to fill out our forms. It was a strange picture, suggesting that all-in-all there wasn't such a natural connection going on, but instead a me-and-them relationship.

Anyway, sorry to go on, but it was a fascinating and fun dream for me. It was laced with a little sadness, that "Prince" was quite sad and so real, so scared of his fans. I hope you enjoyed reading this anyway.
Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

Last night I had a dream and I wish I could make it a reality. It had nothing to do with Prince, but it would be awesome.

I was at a HUGE indoor waterpark with some of the greatest waterslides I had ever seen including one where you jumped like 10 or 15 feet in the air before landing in the water.

But the thing that made my dream so interesting is that besides just being a water park the place was also a nightclub and an arcade. There would be nothing like taking a ride down the slide and then heading over to the dance floor to shake your ass while wearing nothing more then your swimsuit.

I was thinking about it and it would be really cool. During the day you would leave the music off and let the kids and families play the video games and ride the slides and then at night the kiddies would leave and the party would begin big grin

Anyone want to borrow me some start-up money?

I'm sorry this post insn't about your dream, but I'm selfish like this lol

Don't feel bad about dreaming about Prince. I dream about Prince every couple of months or so. But I think that it's my guardian angel using his image as a disguise because I usually dream about him when I'm really sad or upset about something. In the dreams I usually go to one of his concerts and end up having a personal conversation with him where I'm crying. He gives me a big hug and tells me everything will be allright. That's why I think it's my guardian angel in disguise. My friends think I'm crazy and I'm sure someone will make a negative comment that we are obsessed with Prince or something. But whatever...lol

The way I see it is that I've been a fan for twelve years, and furing that time I have had no connection with the person that's made that soundtrack to my life over time. With no real connection then one starts imagining or dreaming about that influence on their life.

I've had 2 Prince related dreams lately (very unusal for me).

The first one, and this will be the condensed version, had me and several other .Org members at Prince's house or Paisley Park. There was a big indoor pond with a small water fall and a bridge/walkway over it and lots of trees and shrubs, etc. I told Prince he should rerecord Calhoun Square with me on bass. He got excited about it and went off to the studio and left us alone. We wandered into an area near the control room and started looking through drawers (the storage kind not his underwear) and found bootlegs of unreleased, never before heard songs all individually shrinkwrapped and ready for sale with a $50.00 price tag.

The other dream had Sheila E and Cat. It was like we were at a neighborhood block party but at someones house which was empty. Cat was off in the background wandering around and doing her own thing and Sheila was answering questions. She told me that Prince DID hang out at the .Org but she couldn't remember his user name. I tried to log on hoping maybe she'd recognize his avatar but she had to leave before I could sign on. I cried as I thanked her and hugged her for being so cool and for creating such a wonderful memory for me. Then she left and the dream ended.

...you can all stop laughing now.
