I saw John Mayer on Monday night in Raleigh, NC with my girlfriend and her daughter. The daughter laughs at us because we love Prince. While John Mayer was doing his song "Your Body Is A Wonderland" he snuck in a couple of lines from "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World". She was appalled that her favorite guy John Mayer could possibly listen to Prince. Ah, youth. Will they never learn?

In case anyone cares, Counting Crows played before John Mayer and they were awesome. Mayer, on the other hand, may have been good but he needs to get a new soundman. The bass in the mix was actually painful. I love a good bass but you couldn't even distinguish any other instruments and while I heard every word Adam Duritz sang with the Crows I couldn't understand a thing Mayer was saying. I had the same problem a couple nights earlier with Ben Folds and Tori Amos. Ben was clear as a bell and Tori was unintelligible. All I know is that I was depressed and suicidal after listening to Tori.

Did I mention that 2 years ago Barenaked Ladies ended their show with When Doves Cry? Well, they did, right after Careless Whisper.
