The Pre-Warners Music

Does anybody else get a kick of P's effort b4 the warner bros years? Studio Nights & The Work's 1st CD are getting alot playing in my crib on heavy routation.

I also dig the instrumentals he did alot, P is in rare forum rocking that fender rhodes in most of 'em. Simple, raw, spontanious shit,,,I love it when Prince is not trying 2 hard 2 be hip!

Does anybody else listen 2 these early stuff?

As a matter of fact I was giving them all a spin last week and was amazed to discover striking similarities between the work he did on some of those Sound 80 instrumentals and the Madhouse material Prince recorded ten years later.
