this aladdin dvd is dissapointing

i just got it so forgive me if im late but the filming is just plain cheap and the sound sounds like it was done on a mixing board from radioshack. as for the performances, having actaully seen the ona tour, i cant believe prince the eternal perfectionist actually thought these were good enough to represent the tour. ive heard better bootleg versions of whole lotta love, his voice is faltering on the new part of strollin and half the time hes so relaxed its like hes not really concentrating. i think im going to put this where i put my rave DVD. back in HMV.

then again, i suppose this type of thing is perfect for las vegas.

Disappointing in some minor technical ways perhaps, but the music is pretty good and that alone justifies the (low) price I paid for it. Cheap production, rotten editing and continuity problems make the DVD look quite amateurish but the music and performances speak for themselves.

Can Prince do better? Yes.
Is this the "definitive" Prince live recording? No.
Is it worth seeing? Yes.

I enjoyed it anyway.

Same here...
A full concert and amore professional production would have been great. But nevertheless a very enjoyable recording of a live-performance. indeed not a "definitive" version but closer to the real thing then the rave dvd.

We agree on too many funky things! Maybe it's time we started an Org Funky Mafia! Dedicated to the preservation of the motion of hips!
