Prince to Sign again...

What if 'Prince' opted to sign an exclusive new record deal with a major to distribute his next record and there was much hype of a commercial resurrection to his new found indie life, would you be excited or not?
What would your idea be for a commercial comeback?

Just to think sometime in the fall your favorite radio station world premiered a new tune from PRINCE, and played it 20 times that day!

Adding that 'PRINCE' struck a new deal and is releasing a new lp soon, planning a tour and a new movie.

How would your react?

Just curious to know... Ur thoughts everyone!

Well I, 4 one, miss those days of hearing the new Prince jams on the radio, and I wouldn't mind seeing him be "popular" again. But I still just want 2 hear new music from him, whether it's popular or not. I'm used 2 people thinking that he fell off the face of the earth, but then again, who really cares what other people think...

Gosh, I love posting under you. Back to the subject, no I wouldn't be excited. Part of the joy of Prince for me was that only a select few dug him.

I've have XM Satellite Radio and I hear him on there every once and a while. I hesitate to say that him signing to a label would make the music any different, but the "Rave" album on Arista was big fun, so who knows. I think he still makes great music. Sometimes I just need to sit out an album or two (Rainbow Children) till more comes along.

I just don't think he'd do it now. The last time he tried that (Rave) it was commercially speaking a total fuck up. Guest rappers, what should have been a hit single (TGRES). He kinda tried his best 2 be popular and it didn't work. The Rave album has some highlights (I actually prefer Rave Into) but now he seems 2 have moved on from that. IMO the music he's now putting out (TRC, ONA, NEWS) is streets ahead of Rave. nod

I would love to see Prince gain some popularity. How nice it would be to hear his latest song on the radio every thirty or forty minutes.

not if his heart isnt in it.
the music he is making now won't get played on the radio & i couldn't care less.
his heart is clearly in the music he is making (News,TRC,Xpectation) & it shows in the brilliance.

if he made a pop album 4 making a pop album's sake... it wouldn't b real.
& what i wanna hear is REAL music, not top40 garbage.
like P has said,it is all part of the journey.
& this part i am currently loving bow
