I do not believe Prince will ever retire from music! How could he with them drums pounding in his head? However, it is highly likely that he will change directions (again), this time leaving a large number of fans behind.

The last thing I see Prince doing is burying his talent. He's accountable for it! And those talents must grow!!!

I draw this conclusion from personal experience. The more I studied the scriptures, the greater my convictions grew. Those convictions lead to a sacrifice, which was my (secular) music. And then I saw PR in 1999...
