Why you won't see NEWS in the bargain bins. Musictoday (the company distributing it for Prince, and the company that brick and mortar retail stores are ordering copies through) is not allowing returns.

I actually haven't seen it in the stores. Tower Records doesn't sell it. Other chains aren't carrying it. What gives? Doesn't he want us to have a copy of it? Damn! First ONA LIVE being a tough find, and now this. How can that man dance when he keeps shooting himself in the foot? Well I work in retail and basically NEWS was undermanufactured,there are still orders not filled yet.
As for the NO RETURN policy it is true, thats why some chains shyed away from it and some bought very small quantities, the company I work for bought about 5,000, but so far only half have gone to stores and most of the other half has sold. This is the same deal as the BOX SET had, no returns, which in the end is a good way to do business for PRINCE even though some retailers wont carry it, alot will just in limited supply. I've seen NEWS sold at Virgin; ONA Live at Best Buy...also deepdiscountcd.com has ONA Live for $38...my NEWS cd is still backordered there though and didn't want to pick it up at Virgin because I might end up with multiple copies if deepdiscount sends it to me... i found it at FYE in greensboro, NC. they got a whole 4 copies today. i bought the first one.
works great in my car stereo, but i can't get it to work on my PC! can anyone help? we the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. we have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified, to do anything, with nothing. | |
