How do you know my friend?
I never even heard the NPG planned another album, sounds like a myth to me.

They wrote about the "Peace" album in the Paisley Newz of the official site so it wasn't a myth.

I asked around back when PP was useful for information...
Prince even advertised the "Peace" album as an NPG album on his website back when it was NPGonlineLTD.com, hell, if I remember correctly, even when it was Love4oneanother.com, that was back in 1999 or so...

Neversin is quite correct.

The tracklist with Vavoom followed by U Make My Sun Shine etc
is 100% fan invention, it isn't even the tracklist for one of the
CDR's that Prince made to showcase current songs. The
tracklist from one of these CDR's which is most often misquoted
as being the 'High' tracklist is the following..
1. Supercute
2. Underneath The Cream
3. Golden Parachute
4. When Will We B Paid?
5. The Daisy Chain
6. Gamillah
7. High
8. My Medallion
9. U Make My Sun Shine
10. When I Lay My Hands On U

The Peace album is no myth, it was even mentioned on the
old NPGonlineLTD site. Like 'High', many tracks from it surfaced
on year 1's downloads (Peace, The Daisy Chain, Northside,
Gamillah)

Ok cool, thanx 4 the explanation.
Why then do the fam sites/boots have the tracklist in that order?
Is that Prince doing a Macy impression on the end of Peace?

I guess I'm nuts too, b/c if High were released on CD it would get MUCH more play than TRC does. In fact, I can't remember the last time I felt like listening to TRC, although there are some great songs on there. The album as a whole is just so confused and unhappy.

worship

I can never think of the right words to describe that trainwreck but you have finally helped me..

'confused and unhappy'

clapping

TRC is never played at my house, and never will

I listen to my first year NPGMC tracks (aka/High) at least once a week. Those are the last bit of creativity and 'Larry-less' influenced tracks.

Rioub

In 2000 Paisley Park registered the website www.princegonnagetuhigh.com , so High was definately considered as an album at one point.

I think HIGH fit well into what Prince was releasing around that time. Just to remind you, that was the time of RAVE, 1999 the new master, and alot of other crap. It has a few nuggets of sweet funk, but as an album, it wouldn't have made anymore of a dent than any of those other things did. Sadly, his sales are dipping even further. He better do something cool soon so that he isn't forgotten about. Bob Dylan did it, Roy Orbison did it, Johnny Cash did it, and none of them are nearly as talented as P.

He can do it too... (holding breath)
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I like both TRC and the High album (as I have put together from other's suggestions). The feel between the two is completely different and it's a waste of time in comparing them. High may not live up to the hardcore Prince fans' idea of his latest album, but as far as fun and enjoyable tunes go it is tops. If it were to compete with Rave then High would certainly win me as the much more enjoyable album of the two. Rave is 'trying' to be lighthearted, but High succeeds.
Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.
