Even though both songs are good in their own way, which do you perfer?

My pick would be Big Fun by far! I listened to Exodus today and I think it is a great album. I loved the segues and I definitly loved the wild crazy old NPG. That whole time period was so exciting. We were getting all of this music that you never knew if it would ever be released. Exodus is a MUST!!!

But...the best song from the Exodus era is the demo version of 'Hallucination Rain'

I'm gonna be the odd man out and pick "New Power Soul". Big Fun is a little too long, and there's not quite as much going on in the mix to keep me entertained.

I love the unreleased Exodus session of NPS - more solos, and just some really funky music.

If it's a comparison strictly between those two songs

I'll choose BIG FUN over NPS. Because it's more hypnotic
and surreal. NPS is too straight forward for my taste.

Man whatever I think big fun is one of the highlights of exodus. It just makes yo head bob.. New Power Soul is just to damn poppy for me. I haven't listened to NPS in a while. When I do listen to it I go right to Number 49!!! And I also play The one.

Also I don't see how so many people can like Come on. That song is some dookie cheese.

I definitely prefer "Big Fun". Then again, I happen to believe that Exodus was one of Prince's best releases of the 90's, and I happen to believe that the New Power Soul project would have been a complete waste of time and energy were it not for "Wasted Kisses".

Then again, I suppose "Shoo-Bed-Ooh" would have been a decent track if Prince had only omitted the bass line (which is ironic, considering that's just the sort of brilliant, risk-taking behavior he epitomized in the 80's).
