i have a vhs copy of this concert that was given to me by a rep for EMI new zealand it was copied directly from thier copy that was given to a local tv station, it has perfect picture and stereo sound and no ad breaks, i want to make it into a DVD to keep the good quality, what do i need to be able to do this as yet i dont have a dvd writer, but its all the other stuff i will need like how to connect the vcr to the pc etc, has anyone done this with other vhs tapes.\.\

I don't have a DVD writer but a stand alone DVD recorder, so I don't know.Maybe this site can help.There's a forum too.

U need 2 get a firewire connection from ure vcr to pc best way of transfering any footage, then render the AVI's to Mpeg which takes many hours.

I do this process alot from vhs/laserdisc to a stand-alone dvd recorder which enhances the picture then I transfer it to the PC through firewire to edit & render with dvd workshop to add menus etc - alot of effort but the end result is worth it - you should see my lovesexy live dvd set transfer direct from laserdisc with menus etc - is amazing!!!
