Comments on Prince.org complainers

It seems that lately any criticism of Prince or his new DVD is met with "get out of here" responses. Isn't the ORG for Prince fan's conversation... good and bad? I mean if you want only positive comments, there's plenty of that at NPGMC. You will never find any criticism on that site, because it will be deleted immediately, make sure of that.

Like any good relationship, I think it's Ok for orgers to criticize Prince or his music and voice their opinions when they feel he's not up to par. I don't know about you guys, but I have alot more respect for friends who tell me like it is.

I think Prince probably has more respect for those fans who don't love everything he does and who actually have opinions and thoughts about his music and the product he releases.

And I also think it's OK for anyone to speak their mind when it comes to Prince, cause Lord knows he's not afraid to tell his fans how to live their lives and what they should think, say and who to believe in.

Anyway, that' my 2 Cents, I ain't got 50...pimp

Sadly, the .Org has always been populated to some extent by a large number of fucking muppets who can't stand criticism of Prince. Think about that: THESE PEOPLE ARE SO INSECURE THAT THEY CANNOT EMOTIONALLY DEAL WITH ABSOLUTE FUCKING STRANGERS DISAGREEING ABOUT THE MUSIC OF A WASHED-UP POP STAR VIA THE INTERNET. That's fucked up.

I should have saved some of the nasty .Orgnotes I've received in the past when I said "harsh words" about Prince. By the way these people were reacting, you'd think that I had shit down their mothers' throats and then burned their pets alive!!! eek

But, it's a fan site. All fan sites have such numbnuts. The general cultish atmosphere that has been surrounding Prince for the last ___ years just makes the freaks here seem more toxic. Ignore them.

Huh? Then why do all the negative comments on NPGMC get deleted?
I can't say I agree with that. This is the man who told one of his former band members, "Even when I'm wrong, I'm right"!

It's fine to like or dislike Prince's output. And with any artist's site there are going to be those who engage in cult-like behavior. What's annoying as shit is those that dislike the material and continue to buy his shit. Those people are becoming a cult within a cult. By the way these people were reacting, you'd think that Prince had shit down their mothers' throats and then burned their pets alive!!!

True...but I often see the "positive" people talk about how great it is that they "give Prince the benefit of the doubt."

Isn't that what some of these 'naysayers' are doing? Buying his new shit to give him the benefit of the doubt? Actually listening to his shit instead of criticizing it first? Granted, some people take it to a whole new level when they haven't dug anything since 1987 and talk about it daily, but at least they're still buying his shit and giving it a chance! That's more than 98% of the population can say now. "Prince who? Didn't he get killed by his pet monkey?"

I think there is free discussion here, both in favor of Prince and not so in favor of Prince, and of course the middle ground of reality... The discussion is alive on this site that is all... It's fine to agree or disagree. twocents

Come on King, you know the type. I'm not saying the some don't have the right to complain. However, some motherfuckers here have been complaining since New Funk shipped out Crystal Ball orders. Whether it be behind the quality of the music or service, some complainers just have no fucking common sense.

I mean he does probably have more respect for thos fans who post, but he sure as hell doesn't want them to influence other fans, so he deletes the posts. He's a control freak, but control freaks and egomaniacs respect you when you're not afraid to stand up for what you beleive. That's when you get their respect.

Good points. I guess what it comes down to for me is this:

1) Person A continues to buy Prince's music and dislike it. They whine and complain. Haven't liked anything in years, but contunie to buy it. More power to them! They're listening to the music before they pass judgment, and (perhaps subconsciously) admitting that there is a chance he'll rule again...

2) Person B continues to buy his shit, join the club, etc. They don't like anything, and spend their time whining about his business sense. THERE you have your fools. A person can complain about not liking the music, as that is opinion. But complaining endlessly about getting "duped" by Prince is a no-brainer. I've never been in the club, because I thought I'd get ripped off.

It's a small distinction, but it's there. And it's important.

Does that make sense?

Wow, It's not that bad... lol... well ummm nevermind... All is well that ends well... Prince is Prince... Music is music, and the world keeps turning... Time wait for no one is what I keep hearing... It's true but then, it's time that keeps the music in key...wink

This is not a new phenomenon. It's been going on here for as long I've been around, and it also works in reverse, where if you like a Prince tune like "Jughead" or "Undisputed" you'll get called out for liking the wrong shit.

Um, what the fuck? It's pseudo-deep psychobabble that led some of us to leave our home "The Holy River Chat" and create Calhoun Square, where people spoke in plain language and didn't spend all their time trying to appear deep when they're really as shallow as a teaspoon. What do you folks get out of it? Who fooled you into thinking anything you said made any sense, or was respected by anyone? Yes, there's some kind of truth in the above quote, but you got people who speak in neverending circles, as if they're a walking breathing human version of the love4oneanother site.

Muffy

Trust me I don't think Prince likes negative comments because he burned several bad reviews of his shows onstage once and sang Billy Jack Bitch about CJ and I just think one has got to watch their mouths and p's and q's around him. Who likes to be Insulted or Criticized? I really don't think Prince likes people saying anything about himself or Manuella and I remember him getting into an argument with a journalist who was bashing Mayte. Listen,I just say RESPECT PRINCE and MANUELLA. I for one am moving more and more into the song Arrogance where Prince says is it Really Important Who's Bed I'm Sleeping In?No Enquiring Minds and all.

I certainly respect my friends that tell it like it is, when that's their real intent.

But the so-called friends that always show up with their hands out, and the gimme, gimme attitude, that go behind my back and talk trash about me because I don't give them what they want, when they want it, gets no love from me or my friends.

Now read it this way:

Prince certainly respects his fans that tell it like it is, when that's their real intent.

But the so-called fans that always show up with their hands out, and the gimme, gimme attitude, that go behind his back and talk trash about him because he doesn't give them what they want, when they want it, gets no love from him or his fans.

I certainly respect my friends that tell it like it is, when that's their real intent.

Come on King, you know the type. I'm not saying the some don't have the right to complain. However, some motherfuckers here have been complaining since New Funk shipped out Crystal Ball orders. Whether it be behind the quality of the music or service, some complainers just have no fucking common sense.

Burn me once, shame on you
Burn me twice, shame on me
Burn me three times, well I guess I'm just a dumb ass motherfucker.

How can you engage in intelligent discussion with someone that ain't that bright?

I learned my lesson from the NPG magazine. I don't like being ripped off. I don't buy his stuff till I see it on the shelf.

Well Said DMSR! However there has been LOTS of NEGATIVE criticism made of late about the vegas dvd. I believe this is STILL a FREE country & EVERYONE HAS an opinion, & should B able 2 express it, whether good OR bad. I'm sure no one wants 2 B told that their art is great & loved by them, if it isnt true. Perfectionist that he is, I feel he also welcomes the critiques, whether he likes whats said or not. He probably VALUES them alot. Of course, that doesnt mean he'll do what one asks ( even IF it is the majority, as we all know he does what HE likes ).
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses
