Well with the reformation for the Sheila E gig later this year with the players that made 1983/84/85/86 what it was, the Time gearing up for a new cd in 2004 [to cash in?], Jesse Johnson blowing off the cobwebs etc it all seems tobe pointing the right direction for a 20th Anniversary release of P.Rain. Can it ever really be the same?, personally I dont think the whole P.Rain sound would carry so well in 2004 . Hearing the Pretenders come back, The Bangles, Bowie, Duran Duran etc its like welcoming back old friends but i wonder whether the mass record buying public would welcome back Prince with open arms. If there is a big project in store lets hope that its a success.

i would love to see prince, wendy, lisa, shiela and the proper members of the revolution get together for a show or two and maybe release some NEW (to be read:unreleased older material). i would hate to see a "reunion" tour or something cheesy like that. we'll leave that to duran duran or blondie or something. those things never pan out, they only leave a sour taste of nostalgia in your mouth.

Sorry, as much as we ALL want it to happen it's not going to. Simple as that. Too many things have to come into play, too many adversaries have to work together to make it happen.

It would be the best thing in years to happen to Prince, but it won't. Prince will never get his due until he dies. He screws it up every time.

That's just how I see it.

isn't all the purple rain stuff in the hands of warner instead of prince's??? They released the ordinary PR, so they migh release it together with the live concert and some extra's. Unfortunatly songs like "posessed" will be under the all-watching clumbsy eye of our new saintly Prince.

Blondie is alive and kicking! They sound fantastic these days, even though Debbie now sounds like a man. They got a new album comin out soon called "The Curse Of Blondie"...

There was no celebration for the 10th anniversary of Purple Rain, or the 15th for that matter. I doubt much will happen on the 20th either. If Prince is planning anything like what he did with 1999, it would probabbly be better left alone.

I agree.Let's face it,in order for this to happen,Prince would have to bury his pride and work with Warner Bros. on at least some of the details and planning. Many other artists have no problems doing successful reunions,re-issues and celebrating their career milestones. But this is Prince we're talking about here...lol...he always has to make things so damn difficult!
