simple: they believe in the unwritten law of Cover Thy Own Ass. This is the man who told one of his former band members, "Even when I'm wrong, I'm right"!
i find that laughable...s'like, if prince's right arm were on fire and you told him so, the point's still invalid? "no, my arm is not on fire and i am not in excruciating pain right now! that is not my burnin flesh you smell!!! now go back to playin them keyboards!" --- I think he meant it as In I am the boss whatever I say goes.

And with any artist's site there are going to be those who engage in cult-like behavior. What's annoying as shit is those that dislike the material and continue to buy his shit. Those people are becoming a cult within a cult. By the way these people were reacting, you'd think that Prince had shit down their mothers' throats and then burned their pets alive!!!
True...but I often see the "positive" people talk about how great it is that they "give Prince the benefit of the doubt." Isn't that what some of these 'naysayers' are doing? Buying his new shit to give him the benefit of the doubt? Actually listening to his shit instead of criticizing it first? Granted, some people take it to a whole new level when they haven't dug anything since 1987 and talk about it daily, but at least they're still buying his shit and giving it a chance! That's more than 98% of the population can say now. "Prince who? Didn't he get killed by his pet monkey?" Come on King, you know the type. I'm not saying the some don't have the right to complain. However, some motherfuckers here have been complaining since New Funk shipped out Crystal Ball orders. Whether it be behind the quality of the music or service, some complainers just have no fucking common sense. Burn me once, shame on you Burn me twice, shame on me Burn me three times, well I guess I'm just a dumb ass motherfucker. How can you engage in intelligent discussion with someone that ain't that bright? [This message was edited Wed Aug 20 17:25:54 PDT 2003 by StinkyWeaselTeats] Bingo !!! I could not have said it any better. Some people just come to this site to bitch and complain. When they are not being forced to spend their money on Prince music,DVD, or concerts. They dislike what he does but, keep coming back for more and bore the shit out of a lot of people on this board.

As a child, used to love the shit outta Fritos. At some point in my life I developed a dislike for them. I don't run to my nearest grocery to buy a bag to see if I still like them because the last memory that I have of Fritos is that they taste the way feet and ass smell. I respect Fritos for the corn chips that they are, and I know some folks enjoy them. But eventually I made a conscious decision not to eat them because they didn't appeal to me. I'm not saying I will never eat another Frito again. But if I eat one it will be unbeknownst to me. I hope when I do they will taste as if they are reinvented.

simple: they believe in the unwritten law of Cover Thy Own Ass. There is some ass covering that goes on in this place too I reckon. This is the man who told one of his former band members, "Even when I'm wrong, I'm right"!

That's a flawed way of viewing things. What about all the fans that didn't like Graffiti Bridge and Diamonds & Perals, but later liked ? Should they have just left to satisfy the likes of you, thus never hearing or anything that came after it? What about the shitloads of people here who didn't care much for New Power Soul or Rave (either version), but LOVE TRC (people like me)? If they followed the flawed philosophy of "love it or leave it" as if this was some black & white issue, they would never have heard TRC. Or ONA. Or any future Prince albums that they might love. Basically, people need to stop claiming that they alone know want constitutes a "real" Prince fan or trying to tell other people to "love ___ album or get out of here." On top of everything else, the decision to have a person "exiled" is one reserved for the moderators. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"
