But when these zealots still ante up $25 just so they can spend even MORE money to buy music and DVDs a week before they're available in stores (no matter that they'll get them a month later), as long as people accept this junk that Prince has been releasing lately as "his path" or some such nonsense, Prince will still think people care about him and continue doing what he's doing. Only if people turned their back on him, might he change and give people what they want...and what would possibly sell. You really believe that if people turned their backs on him, he might change and give "the people" what "they" want?!? I'm going to have to beg to differ. If anything at all, that situation would only make matters worse, quite possibly causing him to become even more of a recluse. Totally abandoning this aspect of his life altogether. I mean honestly, after all is said and done, we are talking about an artist here. | |

We're talking about an individual who had people accompany him on an airplane just so they could periodically touch up the word "slave" written on his face. Even with his lack of a hit and with Paisley Park half dark, Prince still attempts to maintain the lifestyle of a wealthy individual. However, just like Michael Jackson, if the money were to stop coming in, there would be serious trouble. More serious, as Jackson is far more wealthy to begin with. If it got to the point that Prince needed the money badly enough (and the critical, commercial, and popular acceptance...each of which he has been steadily losing for some time now), he'd hopefully wake up and release the unheard material from his most prolific and popular period. | |

i personaly am still enjoying Prince's career altho i would have to give a second thought if i was going to a tour this year that was only promoting an instrumental album. thats saying there was a tour. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

If Prince lets you down again in your feeling and he can't do anything good for you anymore why visit the org then?? You can spend your time better doing something else. I have no problem with people buying what they like, cuz that's what we're supposed to do. I do have a problem with those who continue buying shit that they don't like, just so they can continue their never-ending Prince collection. That bullshit needs to end.
I used to be a hard core fan who kept buying Prince stuff, but eventually there was only so much poison I could take, so I quit before anymore money could be wasted on stuff I'd never listen to or watch again.
