And can I just say that this song still kicks my ass! If anything, I love it more than I did when I first heard it years ago.

I think that the black album is prince's most interesting strongest and most cohesive album. Le Grind is one of my all time favorites by this man, and the album kicked my ass when I heard it as a vinyl boot and still kicks my ass when I hear it now.

The mixes are so strong and dense, yet cohesive.

All the conversation, sound effects, and that dark mood... its brilliant, and its the first thing that really made me take attention on a fanatical level.

It was a major influence on me and how I learned to work with sound.

Absolutely. I was just listening to "Dead On It" yesterday, thinking, "Damn! If this isn't some dense black-forest-chocolate-cake funk, I don't know what is!" There's simply nothing like this album.

Le Grind is one of the best tracks of the album, I absolutely love this nasty funk workout!
