Prince's assets

For those stuck with terrestrial television...

Prince's Millions: Liquid Assets is being repeated on BBC1

Mon 25 Aug, 11:20 pm - 12:20 am 60mins

Liquid Assets uncovers the truth behind Prince - a miniature legend who seemingly lives to make music. From humble beginnings to Paisley Park extravagance, presenter Max Flint goes on a journey in temperatures of minus twenty degrees centigrade to the place where Prince grew up and tells the story of Prince's Millions, and more importantly his ability to spend them. The programme explores Prince's homes, from rags to riches, and uncovers the truth behind Warner's dealings with the symbol, plus the musician's ex-manager talks exclusively for the first time about Prince and his unusual career.

They repeated the one about David Bowie the other night. It's amazing at the similarities between Bowie and Prince. Bowie apparently had the first web only single release, of course Prince did this too, and they both have a fan-site you have to pay to get in. Both release critically acclaimed but sometimes poor selling albums. Wonder if they've ever met?

Only trouble with this BBC show, it's all about how much money the artist has in the bank, like you haven't succeeded unless you've got a 100 million saved up or more. After the first couple of million I would have thought it becomes pointless, you're probably never gonna spend it all in your lifetime anyway, better to spend it on stuff and having fun I reckon. If you've EARNED millions but only have a couple of thousand left in the bank and you've spent it having a good time, then I reckon you're successful...

i dunno, i could probably spend a couple of million in half an hour easy.

Saw this when it was on BBC3, how they came to the final figure was confusing to say the least.More garbage and tabloid guesswork i suppose. He's hardly going to spill his bank details is he?
