No News is fairly boring and I don't much care for it. For a record advertised as being a new direction in music I sure think it needs some direction. I think each track has some interesting moments, but there are long waits between said moments.

I like Expectation much better.

I just got it today and I LOVE it myself... I am very happy I bought it! Thanks Prince!!

well i have to admit as i did a while back that i was not interested in any damn instrumentals from Prince. to be honest i never did like most of the past instrumentals except maybe for anything on Parade. however, i am a completist when it comes to Prince's music (i don't worry to much about the protegee stuff) so i ordered it.
one initial listens i was somewhat impressed. i found myself listening to it all the time. i have put it on the shelf this week just to give it a break and so that i can listen to other music. i have to say that i do love it. maybe not as much as say SOTT or Lovesexy or C&D but i am growing to love it cuz i guess it reminds me of the ONA tour last year and it tells me that Prince has come full circle: he started as an underground artist. became a huge star and now he has returned to that status and he is trying something new.

in the current climate of pop music, there is something heartening about a major star who intentionally goes off and does what no one expects him to do or he realizes that he no longer needs the number one hits or the videos on MTV or the covers of Rolling Stone. i think Prince is at that point.
he has had the number ones, the videos, the awards, the covers, the girls, the crazy nights, the limos, the red carpets and all that shit. he has even invented popular music today ie The Neptunes. next please!

It's the first album. I chose not to buy... I love the music...
But it's flat... Sorry to say... but the NEWS album. Sadly it's boring...

Well I love it. It's very Peaceful and Serene. You can listen to this album with your lover and some fine wine and some candles and just chill. It's really Wild that Prince has created Gothic,Romantic music that is so Laid back and Serene and dig it he just keeps turning the ladies on like crazy when he performs. Dig the DVD;he looks so Hot and sexy one could pass-out. The music and his guitar playing puts one in an Ectastic State. Ya gotta love that Sly Fox .
