I gotta tell you that I cannot stop playing NEWS.I wish it were a longer album.He really needs to push this more and not to "regular" music consumers,but people who like jazz,fusion,and dig stuff like Sun Ra.It's not as weird as some Sun Ra stuff,but ppl who like "experimental" or "jam" music.The same folks who like some Zappa stuff might lkike his experiments.I really think he could get a new fanbase.He could have concerts with NPG as openeing act for Prince.NPG could just be all instrumental stuff and then,of course,the main event would be the second act,Prince .He could then perform w/all the trappings of his status.It could satisfy both tastes and he could have a dual career.

The fusion band could perform teh XPECTATION tracks and the NEWS tracks and even release the FLESH project that I want so badly!!Theree could be a re-release of Madhouse tracks and so forth.This is a good opportunity here.

That would certainly kick ass and like you said, it would satisfy both categories of fans!

I got NEWS for ya. There isn't anything NEW about it. New directions in music? My ass. It sucked. If anything, each song should have been cut in half. Combine all that they did in 14 minutes into 7 and it'd be a whole new ball game. Man, I didn't think it was gonna be that bad. I'm sure there are people who really do like this album, but I'm certain that people had to convince themselves that they liked it, being the fanatics that they are. And no, this isn't a shot at you. It's just something I thought I'd add, because I've read some really "convincing" posts on the album by some of the fanatics (those who just took offense to what I said, I'm referring to you...for there'd be no reason to take offense if you weren't one of the guilty ones!). I'm truly glad you enjoy it. But IMHO, it's the most disappointing album ever. Maybe by the time Prince tours again, he'll realize how much it sucks and won't waste any quality time playing it.
