Sign O the Times DVD import  was just in a video store yesterday and saw this 4 sale in their import dvd section. it has an old pic from prince's 1999 daze on the cover. the play list were songs from the second CD of the album. my question is: if already own sign o the times(original VHS tape) is there any difference of this DVD worth buying?

PEACE N B WiLD!!! IMO it's better to have the dvd then the VHS. Just because the DVD will last longer, has scene selection etc... The tracklist on the back is not correct, the tracklist is the same as on the VHS. I say; get it...it's a nice addition ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

strange they chose to damage themselves listing less tracks...in some cases is the contrary!
But it's nice they spot "It"... cheers

The quality is not as good as the video. The transfer is very dark and at times it's very hard to make out things in the background. Also, there is at least 4 or 5 audio glitches. | |

It's from Brazil, it's not sanctioned by Prince and probably not Universal. Like Lovemachine said, the quality is poor. There is supposedly a much better copy (from Laserdisc) circulating. Burn your VHS copy to DVD or find someone else who will for better results. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

My official VHS version goes too quick
(the speed is increased by 5%). This DVD version hasn't a briljant quality .. neither a poor quality ... but speed is allright! | |

I have the vhs and the Brazil version.I had to have Brazil just because it is easier to deal with and I don't have to worry about tape pop,but the vhs is far superior.I will get one of the other "unofficial" dvd versions.If Prince ever releases an "official" version I'll buy that,too.
