He wrote it to Kim Bassinger in Batman. I don't know I'm just guessing. But there's been much speculation on their suppossed fling. So I wouldn't doubt if she was the inspiration.
It was reported that during the filming of Batman, Prince would view some of the screenings and then go write a song or songs. So the inspiration could've been from almost anything in the movie involving her character. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I also love this song. I find it a bit sweet and sugary, but on the whole, it's a beautiful song. Sheena can sing and that's important with all the people out there that can't sing a lick. | |

Arms of Orion is one of my favourite tracks on Batman.
I cant understand why so many people dont really like it  Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
