1.Purple Rain (He could've died at that point, but his place in music history would've been secured with this album.)
2.Sign O' The Times (But then again, the world would've never gotten the chance to see this classic.)
3.Dirty Mind (That's a given.)
4.1999 (He took us to school with this one.)
5.See, those 4 are his essentials, while every other album from the '80s was flawed in various magnitudes (yes, Moonbeam, even Controversy has its moments). But since this is a top 5, I'm gonna go with The Black Album, simply for its artistry, audacity, & myth. Also, because it shows the true essence of what Prince was about...DA FUNK!!!
