In my childhood home, my parents were out and I slipped in the CD with the headphones on.
For some reason at the time I kept it secret that I liked Prince, it felt forbidden. I remember being blown away by the entire LP - I think I listened to Parade straight after on vinyl and having the same feeling. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

but then i was a lil kid then...as the years past i grew more fond of the album and consider it one of his best... interesting, i enjoyed NPS and Graffiti Bridge upon first listens but now I think they are rank!!! Space for sale...

I had heard the single from the album and could not wait to hear the album so when I first heard it I played it non stop for days actually 2 or 3 weeks. It was perfect and listening to it over and over it only got better... A true masterpiece... brilliant on all levels... The perfect double album... of all time...

"Sign 'O' The Times"? Album... I was in my teenage bedroom one evening after school, listening to it on its release date on vinyl. I was awestruck. I'd bought the 12-inch during a high school trip to New York, and I'd read multiple reviews, so I was waiting in the wings for the album's drop date. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I bought it the day it came out while on my way to visit some girls from school and heard it at their place. All three of us really liked it - the first track to immediately grab our collective attention was It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night. The rest took a couple of listenings - I did those in my room at home. I'm sure I drove my mother, my sisters and my brother absolutely crazy with my singing along.
That is still my favorite Prince (and the Revolution) album. Unlike Purple Rain, I've never felt tired of it. A pity Prince tired of the project before WB had the chance to release more singles. Songs like Slow Love and Strange Relationship would have been good single choices, I think. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

I was in New Mexico for the summer and had just bought it at this really cool record store. I listened to it in the car on the ride home and felt so cool for finally owning this work of art.
I also realized that I had sung Starfish and Coffee before at this retreat I used to go to. I had just thought that it was a really cool camp song. [This message was edited Fri Aug 15 19:34:36 PDT 2003 by jessyMD32781]
