Aaron Mcgruder mentions Prince. Comic Strip writer, Aaron McGruder, of the Boondocks, was on C-Span last night talking about American culture and media bias against black youth with Cornel West on a panel discussion hosted by Tavis Smiley. McGruder has some great radical opinions about politics and culture that are thrilling and shocking as well. He mentions that radio has become so commercial that Prince can't even get played on it anymore, even though Prince at one time was a big rock star.. Good stuff. See the video Stream:

http://www.c-span.org/sea...t=mcgruder I watched this on C-Span yesterday as well. A. McGruder does have some radical viewpoints, but I think he's just PC free. I liked his comment about Al Sharpton's hair and the fact that it matters since he's running for prez. Is it wrong? Yes. Is it reality, and should one consider it to be taken seriously? Yes. I thought alot about what he was saying, and bottom line...keeping it real is keeping people down. And I always love seeing Cornel West speak...very passionate and definitely comes off as truly believing in what he's saying. | |

BOONDOCKS RULES!!
Aaron Macgruder is the best! He's often a panel guest on "Real Time" With Bill Maher on HBO. If you haven't looked at a comic strip (like Doonsbury, or Calvin and Hobbes) in a while pick up a local newspaper that carries "Boondocks" and check it out! The stuff all last month on July being "Black Language Month" was HILARIOUS!! Purplehead | |
