My spirit was floating through a worm hole on it's way to some outer reaches of the universe. An angel came up to me with a pair of headphones and said, "Hey, dude, check this out." and she place them over my ears. Then suddenly, "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" she screamed. It became apparent to me that she had forgot the walkman. The angel then pleaded with me to allow her to sing. I obliged, and from nowhere she revealed a Casio keyboard. A faint organ sound rang from its miniscule speaker, as she said the words, "Dearly beloved...". Then, all of a sudden, I woke up as if from a dream, to find myself lying on the floor, naked, and covered in peanut butter. As I regained focus, I looked up to see numerous people standing around me. Some of them have name badges with the words 'Our Price' written on them. I remember hearing sirens in the distance, and some dogs barking. There also seemed to be music playing in the background. It was the angel, playing her Casio keyboard...her last words to me before the men took me away were, "I only want 2 see u, only want 2 see u
In the purple rain..."

On the radio while I was gettin ready to go out. I was about 13 and thought that it was a cool heartfelt emotional song and it did not sound like any of the music spinning during the 80's thus far... I thought this is an original work and history was being made all at once...

I don't remember the first time I heard PR ever, but I do remember the first time I listened to it on a walkman, which was a new thing back then... lol

I got to When Doves Cry...the beginnin part w/ the buzzing sound. I thought I was being attacked by a bee!

speaking of walkmans...

See, I heard snippets of Purple Rain when it "hit big" and watched him on TV, etc.

But I only listened to the whole album in the (shock, horror) 90ies, when I was looking for some real music. I was pretty tired of what I was hearing at the time. Anyway, I have fond memories of playing it a lot in my walkman too. And yes, I was blown away the first time I listened to it from beginning to end. Loved it and still do.
