Just got this email from NPGMC:



Except that when I log in to NPGMC, go to the retail area, choose "Buy Now" beside the DVD I get brought to the "account signup" page where it suggest I join for a mere $25! Er, I'm already a member.

I presume they'll fix this soon.

First off, if anyone has a firewall or Internet security of some sort - we have been asked to turn it off before ordering.

Second, I had that problem, but used the "Buy Now" black rectangle to the left, and it worked fine.

From there, I logged on to musictoday and placed my order without fail.

I had the same problem as well but relogged myself in (in the beginning were the gates are) and clicked the HTML rather than FLASH and then it worked. Remember to click HTML because I think that is key. I wish I would have done this when I was trying to order NEWS. Otherwise you can order it through Musictoday (sorry, I don't have the 1-800 # off hand). That is how I ordered the NEWS CD. I had no problems with them and I ordered the Cd much later than the original ordering/release date and even got it way before most people who ordered through the club, lol! Musictoday are the ones handling everything anyways even if you order it through the NPGMC.

I had that problem too. So, I just immediately logged off, went to amazon.com and preordered it there...

I had no probs ordering... But, when I checked my comfo e-mail it sent me to a 'sign up to the club page'. What's up with that...? Is anyone else getting this and should I worry about it as my order seemed to go though.
I've paid my cash... I want what I am now owed.
I don't owe the NPGMC shit... They owe me.

When I bought NEWS back on July 19, the confirmation email link also took me to a sign-up page for the NPGMC. The fact that they didn't bother to fix this obvious glitch two months later is not in the slightest bit surprising, in my opinion.

I had no trouble at all, though obviously it isn't exactly working well since others have had trouble.

Mind u, u're a computer geek Ian so surely this isn't really a problem for u?

Sure it's shoddy that it doesn't all work smoothly, but u can't honestly be telling me that u have been unable to order the CD?

It can't be so difficult.

Damn though, they really should sort these things out. It is a bit silly the way nothing works quite as it should.

for a while yesterday the 'buy now' button was taking me to the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND section of musictoday - ?

but i found that was because i closed the full NPGMC window behind the retail pop-up. works fine now.

Anyway I can confirm that disabling my firewall allowed me to access the retail site properly. Of course, not everyone will have that option (for example if you are in a net café or in your workplace, you won't necessarily be able to do that). I did however just say "fuck it" and just order from Amazon. It's a few quid cheaper, and a lot easier.
