Ground rules: lets concentrate on PRINCE albums as opposed to material...

Is it stronger than FOR YOU?
Does it kick the butt of PRINCE?
Will you admit not singing about INCEST ranks it above DIRTY MIND from a lyrical standpoint?!
The licks are far superior to those found on CONTROVERSY, yes?

I would say in all seriousness that the rebirth we've seen starting with TRC through the latest offering NEWS is wonderful and groundbreaking... and dare I say: refreshing!

NEWS is better than GRAFFITI BRIDGE!

NEWS is not better than any other Prince album period. Definately not better than Graffiti Bridge. Joy and Repetition, Question of U, We Can Funk all knock it out the box. I would rather listen To NPS than listen to NEWS.

News is not a bad album.. good music.

But its at the bottom of the pile.

I think its better than Xpectation personally.

I dont really consder N.E.W.S. in the categories of "For You", "Prince", "Controversy" &/or "Dirty Mind". They, 1st of all, have lyrics & 2nd, they have a basic sound on them that Prince was doing at the time. N.E.W.S. has various styles going on in it & you dont even hear an eek from him thru-out it.

He's obviously feeling the funk, and lets out a short kinda "eugh" sound.



It's on one of the faster funky sections. Anyone else heard this?

NEWS is maybe better than NPS and Rave, simply because they're rubbish. NEWS is definitely no better than Graffiti, which part of News can be even remotely compared to Joy in repetition, Thieves in the teple or question of U?

Some of the stronger tracks on GB seem to be songs by other artists, and that really bugs me! I mean come on, don't give your stronger material to THE TIME, TEVIN CAMPBELL, and such, and then have the audacity to use your outtake material as FILLER! Come on, release it fool!

i.e., maybe I should see the movie... and seeing as I love "The Wizard of Oz," but have never had the pleasure of seeing "Graffiti Bridge" NEWS wins hands down!

I have to listen to one direction at time of News, can't play it in full...zzz...
