NEWS at Sam Goody

I don't know if we really need a separate thread for every store that NEWS is for sale in. But since it seems there is interest I was passing by the Sam Goody in City Center, downtown Minneapolis, and in the new releases display that faces you as you walk in was a whole row of NEWS CD's. Must have been 30 or 40 copies (and I'm sure they had more in the Prince section, they put him in the R & B section there! Like he is strictly an R & B artist Hmmm...) Also I know they have the CD at Electric Fetus in Minneapolis because a friend picked it up there. I listened to East and South on my ipod today and they sounded really great!!!

Off topic but how is the marathon training going?

I hit a roadblock and developed Runners Knee and now I have to sit for a couple of weeks and can only train on the Nordic Trac. It just sucks.

Oh man, that must really suck! Training is going well. I never do it really scientifically. I have been doing a long run once a week. I usually do it on Monday morning. I get up at about 4:30 AM and run for between 2 and 3 hours. Whoa! This way I can get the run in before it is too hot, and still get home in time to see my wife and son before they go to school/work. Then I can rest a bit as on Mondays I work the late shift and don't work until 12:30!! And I always have the ipod pumping out the tunes!

Other days I run to and from work. I never take the bus anymore. Luckily there is a bathroom with a shower and lockers where I work so I can run/shower/change. On the way to work I run from my house to Lake Calhoun to Lake of The Isles ("running around Lake of the Isles is cool I know"!) to the bike path that takes me downtown! I take a shorter, more boring route home to be with my family quicker. So there you have it...

What sort of time do you usually do the marathon in? Oh! Just checked your profile! a 41:10 10k!! You are faster than me! I'm not real speedy. It usually takes me between 4 and 5 hours to do the marathon. Best time 4:09, worst 4:55 or so. I just like to do it.

OK folks. Back to chatting about where to buy NEWS if you feel like it!
