Quetion about NPGMC

Has anyone in here actually put the NPGMC to good use yet and is it worth it? What privelages do you get? Last year it was different right, like a higher price and stuff. Was that cause of the tour and the sound checks? I was just thinking of joining because I love Prince's music and have since I can remeber, but I work hard fo tha money.

this is the first year i've experience any problems. i am so dissatisfied with this year's club that i have no intention of joining again. and, if you'd like, check my past posts on the subject...they were all very supportive of the club until this year. i think it has been a disgrace this year. not much has been offered thus far, which is ok in consideration to the 25 ducket cost, but the year is more than half over and nothing special has come of it. it just seems like a robbery this year. no special releases for club members, no special perks (because many members still have not recieved a cd that record stores already have) and limited allowance on npgmc message boards. all in all, i would have preferred to put that 25 bucks toward the bowienet club. its all good though, just a life lesson learned i suppose.

hmmm...mixed reviews...I imagine it would be hard to run a club like that along w/ all the other shit he's got goin'. Maybe it'll take him another couple years to perfect it eh? I might join next year for the f+ck of it. It's not too expensive...

(wrong forum)

Not into it this year after 2 years of membership. Even though I got most of the perks last year, I felt the promise fell short of the reality, mainly due to the almost complete lack of customer service and communication offered by the Club.

Also, I thought that fulfilling a promise of "4cds" by counting ONA Live as 3 of them was cheese. All that, plus the religous overtones of the Club seem to be increasingly and creepily outweighing the "Music" content.

My 2¢. At the end of the day, it's only $2 a month, so, in a way, what the hell?

This is exactly what everyone was saying last year around October! It wasn't until 1/1/03 that we got the xclusive Xpectation album and five xclusive downloads. Patience my young padwan, patience. Besides, for $25 what do you xpect?

In reality, since no music was promised, we can't expect any - so I'm more than happy with the price $2 per month, which I've used to visit the zoo and laugh at all the chattering monkeys on the NPGMC board.

Actually, this is the first year too for me to experiance any problems with the NPGMC.. 2years ago, I joined about 5days before the membership ended, I thought it was unfair that I had just paid $100 for 5days, so I wrote them an email, and they actually agreed with me, and I got back my $100 and I joined again.. last year was great, I love npgmc, I just loved the way I had front row seats at my first Prince concert, and I was able to go to a soundcheck..and best of all, 100 people stood in line for the VEGA afterpart, and I just walked up and showed my ONA-member-cardthing and got thru right away not to mention the ONA-LIVE boxset.. it was all just perfect! This year is different though... Can't really say anything positive about the club this year.. what I'm mainly pissed off about is NEWS cd, I ordered it the 19th June still haven't got it.. Yesterday I went to a musicstore, and guess what? they already had NEWS there, & I still haven't recieved the one I ordered 2months ago..evil .. THOUGH last year was great!!

uh uh, not everyone...i loved the club last year. i do, though, think its cheesy for p to always wait until the very last minute to offer up something. but, as romance1600 said, 2 dollars a month is nothing. so i guess with that perspective i can be a lot more satisfied with it.

yeah, but they r downloads i can get in the same mp3 quality from someone elsewhere online.
i know i know, thats not morally right & all that jazz...

but dontcha think it would b much cooler 2 actually have original cd's thru the club? would b much more exciting.
also when having an operation like NPGMC....making the items EXCLUSIVE in the true sense of the word would help.

either way tho,i dont really care.just an idea.
i spose if i came across a spare $40au.... then i would join up just 4 the helluvit but until then, nah thanx smile
