They aired an excerpt of "She's Always in My Hair" peformed live (Prince in a white suit with the snake and the symbol on his back). Later I've heard the short version from Hits/B-Sides. And then (don't remember when though) I got the 12" inch single.
A great song, I agree. Yes... for me too... on that same show, a fan in germany won the black cloud guitar... handed out by Levi I believe. In those days, MTV was kinda cool... instead of these excerpts, wasn't the whole show filmed? come to think of that... I was kinda disapointed in the song when I heard the album version...
But I always liked live played songs better than album recorded ones _______________________________________________________________________________________

Also heard/saw it the first time on ACTII. Before I was never able to get to a prince concert (due to exams, abroad, to young, etc)
First concert; front row and a best of performance: it made my year 
I never really bought the singles and then discovered 17days on my brothers single of "whend doves cry". From the on the search began for old singles and their b-sides. Only found shockadelica 
BTW; saw the maxi version of alphabetstr here in a store in antwerp; any vynil collector here? The HQ-er formerly known as krokostimpy. | |

The first time I heard it was at the Act2 Shefield Arena concert in August 1993. At the time I took my younger brother with me, it was his first concert.
I had never heard the song before that. Since then I think it is one of my all time favs. Flinty. | |
