Ray is have more of a Sly Stone going on with his vibe,,,and he does this Okaland sound nicely. Don't know about the brotha being influenced by Prince(at least I haven't heard anything so far) now The Toni Toni Tone crew can do the jop  Yeah, Ray is more on a Sly vibe (reppin' the Bay Area to the fullest!!!) However, I remember when he opened up the set of Lucy Pearl playing lead guitar a few years back-PRINCE INFLUENCE UP AND DOWN!!! Maybe P could use the help of Andre 3000 who, IMO, does a really good job of paying homage to the brother but with a twist on it. I think its mostly the kids who are so enamered (sp) with producers any way. Give me an artist who can work their music though the whole process. From idea to finished song. That is the essence of creativity. When u find an artist that has that sort of overall ability savor it, enjoy their vision. And if u don't that's your problem. Don't think just beacuse u don't like it that the artist needs to have some other person come in and alter their style. If u don't like Prince's music accept the fact and move the f**k on. True.I like The Neptunes,but they are nowhere near being on the same planet as p. Prince knows more about music then the neptunes ever will. I rather hear prince rise or fall with his own ideas about his art then turn it over to some hack of the moment.
