It takes fucking forever to download.

It makes me sick, actually. It is like Prince is pissing on a bunch of starving people. Really disliked Prince after this.

You think?

It's pretty childish behaviour on Prince's part, but I'd have said that it looks more like he has no interest in being one of those self-congratulatory celebs patting themselves on the back for caring so much about famine-struck Africans.

I've always had the impression that Prince is the sort of guy who'd prefer to just go home and get his chequebook, rather than get on stage and make a big deal out of his charitable contributions.

i second your opinion Ian. i did see this when it originally
happened. and i wasn't surprised at what prince did.
he has a "sick" sense of humor. always has. my view is he
felt "quincy...i didn't sing on the original song..you dissed me cuz of that...now years later you're still trying
to get me to sing on this sucker...pleaseee!!!"

sure it made him look stupid and pissed off a lot of people
then as well as now...but since when has prince minded
looking stupid?

i love quincy..he's one of the jazz greats-but that doesn't
make him blameless. he kep trying to get Mj and prince
together (to sell lots of records) at the same time he was
dissing prince in interviews! That's hypocritical, man!

anyway prince acted like prince. so why would us fans be
shocked!!!

(btw...i kinda dug then little guy's speech)

Onstage,it looks like Quincy is laughing and joking along with Prince.I always assumed it was just good-natured fun, with Prince playfully mocking his earlier decision to not participate with the We Are The World song. But I heard that, once they got backstage,Quincy angrily told Prince "You might be the Artist Formerly Known As Prince, but you are still a prick".What's all that about??

rolleyes Now dont get me wrong, I love Quincey's music but comments like that makes him seem more like a spoiled brat who was upset that he didnt get his way. bored Gimme a break, Prince doesnt want to sing on the song, so what? A coupla other of the celeb's more than likely didnt give a damn and just wanted exposure to sell more records and themselves. It wasnt as if Prince DIDNT want to contribute, he sent a song for goodness sake. bored Quincey is right in the league of the Rick James crew of folk who love to hate on and but live for working with Prince.
stfu Cherrie!! (yea thats right I said it)
And now, Im going to pop in my Quincey Jones Love Hits CD and listen to the Brazilian wedding song cuz thats my jam. nana

we're talking about the same motherfucker who said in some award show "This award goes 4 a wonderful ass" or something along, that should tell u something.

What happened was, he won a Minnesota music award and when he went up to the mic to accept the award he said "when are they gonna give the one for the best ass?" lol

It didn't help Prince that he lip-Synched his musical performance. A badass piano version of Gold would have floored them.

It makes me sick that "We are the world" is the best they can come up with for a bunch of starving people.

I hardly think Prince was trying to be offensive. Really it was funny, it was kind of smart on his part because when the show was over, who do you think the audience remembered people that were standing up singing the same song or the guy with the lollipop?

I never noticed how much Justin Guarini favors Tom Jones. Ahem...*cough*lost love child*cough*...ahem.

And for the life of me, I'll never understand why anyone, Prince fan or otherwise, would applaud this behavior. This is supposed to be an adult, not a child. I had hoped I would never see that bit again, for the plain and simple reason that it embarrasses me as a Prince fan. No matter how much of an "above it all" image you think Prince is trying to give off, in my eyes he is giving off an "I'm a 37 year old man sucking on a lollipop while everyone around me sings a song in front of millions of people look at me I'm a big ass dork..but damn I look fly in this suit, don't I?" image.

So there.
