WHICH PRINCE SONG GOT STUCK IN YOUR HEAD THE LONGEST? It's a common experience. You listen to a record or the radio and you hear a song you find yourself mentally or literally humming for hours, days and sometimes weeks, of not months.
What is the longest running number one Prince hit of your mental hit parade? Are there any Prince songs presently stuck in your head? [This message was edited Sat Jul 19 9:54:43 PDT 2003 by Aerogram]

A week? That's nothing...I bet there are a lot of Prince fans who obsess about any new single for at least a week.

The groove of Come On has been stuck in my head since mid-1998. It's a great groove.
Sometimes it can get to be a little much...

I'm not sure. But most frequently, I get that funky guitar hook part of the "Little Red Corvette" dance mix.
The thing is, I never get sick of it. It's like a fun little curse.

Sometimes it can get to be a little much... I didn't like the song right away, but once I did, it was stuck in my head for at least two weeks. But the song that got stuck the longest is probably Kiss. I was particularly peppy when it came out, and I liked to think about the song almost till mid-summer, kind of a Spring song that energizes you. I had two or three songs that I associated with Spring -- sort of a new theme song. 1999, When Doves Cry, Pop Life, Kiss, Sign O the Times, Housequake, Alphabet Street... they all got stuck. I also have a special place in my heart for Adore, which I associate with some trips I was making several times a week to a strange part of town to see th e object of my affection. Someone stop me... I'm getting sappy.

"WALK DON'T WALK" strangely has been stuck in my head for about a month now. This was caused by a 3 hour walk around the LOOP (Downtown Chicago) where there is a stop light and walk signal on every corner of course. *White, Black, Puerto Rican..Everybody just a-freakin'...-Prince(1980)*
