It's not a popular viewpoint, but I love TRC. And Emancipation too
I bet in 20 years time, when kids are scouring Prince's back catalogue (just as I did with Marvin Gaye's stuff, George Clinton etc) they'll devour his wackier albums like TRC... they'll lap it up!

"He's controversial"
He's about as controversial as finding a suger puff in a packet of cornflakes these days.

I dunno - how many kids are scrambling for Little Richard's religious records? The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

Definitely. I need help understanding what the hell is the point in publishing diarhea that's formulaic at best. 3/4 of the songs begin with him singing the title of the song. Redundant? Maybe. The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

Definitely. I need help understanding what the hell is the point in publishing diarhea that's formulaic at best. 3/4 of the songs begin with him singing the title of the song. Redundant? Maybe. I've never understood this formulaic argument about Emancipation. To my ears there's nothing formulaic about Courtin' Time, White Mansion, In This Bed I Scream, Soul Sanctuary, Curious Child, Dreamin' About U, Joint 2 Joint, Let's Have A Baby, The Plan, New World, The Human Body, Sleep Around, My Computer, The Love We Make and probably others if I could be arsed to think about it. As for many songs beginning with the title of the song, well that's just nit-picking.
