Prince has lost the fire, he has lost the hunger, he has lost the power to sway an audience and a collective musical mind. Prince has given the gold mine over to the buzzards, and his entrails are on display at their quivering beaks. Prince, I must say, is over. He has lost it, much like Micheal Jackson, but at least we knew Michael Jackson was a one note artist, from jump street. Prince had a special place in my heart, because of his musicial uniqueness. Now that splended place has been defiled, by Princes odd need to make profit, but with really bad ideas. Like how do you have a hit with an all instrumental album? Or, why do a live album that doesn't have old stuff from the vault? Why does he write weak dance songs, that he knows only die-hards will listen to? The same dumb rap ideas, even though the hip-hop community largely views Prince as a faggot and wimp.
2freaky, you might be right on a number of levels. Afterall, you can't be 'wrong' about the way you feel, or can you? Perhaps, the signs are pointing in the 'wrong' direction for you. And yes, I agree, it does sound like your time with Prince is over but then again, we could both be wrong.
I give up on some of you. You can have this Prince. As for me and my church, we will find succor elsewhere. Yea, ICE hates that sucka too.

Anji,
In an era where people have become so guarded with their true feelings, especially with regard to sharing that which is loved, it is both refreshing and uplifting to read your posts. You empower people who might otherwise be afraid of the slings and arrows that usually result. Internet discussion groups are a delicate balance and without people of all opinions willing to speak out they can very quickly be taken over by a small band of bullies who are miserable and dead set on making everyone else’s life miserable too. Keep on keeping on. Brendan

It is possible that these recent albums could be reflecting his enjoyment in life rather that his hardships and struggle in the past.
I am happy for him, and I too enjoy those albums very much Mesage from the Happy Sunshine

I think his best years are behind him, but that has happened to so many artists who hit big in the 80s. The tree cannot produce the best fruit throughout its entire life. That said, I like NEWS far more than TRC. Maybe precisely because it's instrumental...?

The thing is, I wasn't there to experience it as it all happened. It was only through Batdance that I got introduced to Prince; my interest was initially in the movie and the hype. That's an 11 year old boy, me, starting somewhere and ending here. I think that should provide perspective to my story but I don't think it takes away from anything that I've experienced. Like I said, we all had our own journeys and this was mine.

Brendan, thanks dude, that means alot! You're one of a group of elders I honestly feel privileged to tap into for the good stuff i.e. learning. BorisFishPaw, Supernova, Teller, Giotto and Jestyr are the others but for entirely different reasons.

This is all very true, Telly. Some people here think I'm a crazy, mindless fam. You know what, maybe I am. LOL!
