Just paid $7 for the download of N.E.W.S.

Just paid $7 for the download of N.E.W.S.

Wasn't gonna but it till it reached my local HMV here in the UK.

But I thought what the heck and paid a mere $7 to download it. Glad I did as to my ears it is quite average. It may grow on me but i'm glad I did not pay the NPGMC price plus the shipping, plus the hassle!

If i'm feeling rich when it hits the stores I may buy it for the artwork (which i've heard is better than the music). At least I have the option.

The artwork is crappy unless you like popup books. You have to bend the cardboard to close it securely and there are no pictures of Prince or the band. Also they spelled Saxophone wrong on the credits.

Play it a few more times, it'll grow on you. The solos sound like candy to your ears. I absolutely love it! Both Prince & Eric deliver some great moments, as well as the rest of the band. I hope you enjoy it!

I don't know. I think it's tough to listen to a 56 minute album for maybe 5 or 6 minutes worth of interesting sounds. I personally like Xpectation alot better.

I will keep mentioning it because it's funny and it shows how sad the Prince organization is when it comes to things like quality control.

I couldn't get into 56 minutes of N.E.W.S so I tried mixing it up. I put TRC, ONA & N.E.W.S in my player and program about 25 minutes of TRC followed by any one of the N.E.W.S. segments followed by about 15 minutes of ONA. I find the three cds work great together. N.E.W.S. makes a great bridge between TRC & ONA.
