As far as P's heritage goes, I have no problem with P being filipino. I would just like them to back up thier claim. You just cant call someone filipino and offer no evidence of your claim. And the site says half? Not an 8th or a 4th. I think that's what peop;e mean when they say that they've seen both of his parents and they're both "black".
I think that we all know that most African Americans are a mixture of things. But Asain genes are pretty strong. Usually when someone is half Asain, like Tiger Woods and Anmerie (sp?), you can see the Asain. I just don't see the Asain in Prince. Unless of course it's way back. I'm just curious as to where they got thier info from because I've never heard him say it. **************************************************

It appears that the whole Filipino slant was taken from an article by Scott Isler called 'Prince in Exile' back in 1984 in Musician Magazine.
I can't find the article online, but it keeps cropping up as the 'source' and/or 'proof' of him being part Filipino. Does anyone have the article? Just curious about how badly it was taken out of context. Max ...I go 2 the max...I'm not afraid...I wanna dance... | |

Most of the others jumped on the colour of his skin, which isn't what my post was about. The comment that 'I know that Prince is straight black because I've seen a picture of his parents' cracked me up! I didn't know that you could tell the heritage of a black person just by looking at a picture of their parents! In the past both of his parents have said they were "black" while responding to the question. Either people think they are lying (and how stupid that would be), or it wasn't important enough for them to remember it if they read those interviews at all. | |

Finess, Black ppl in american are usually a mixture of african/Native American and Sometimes European! The name 'African American' is used so loosely...because being african american means ur parents are from africa and came to the u.s. and then gave birth to a child, which makes u african american, due to history blk ppl have become less and less pure...Prince is a light skin blk male, whose heritage is mixed...not 100% african american, his parents both of them have mixed heritages. As far as the filipino, I'm not sure, but it can be possible! Ppl are silly on prince.org, because we take subjects like this and allow them to get out of hand. lol just a history lession folx adios What does light skin have to do with being mixed?
