I won't say I like anybody more because at the level he's on it's just a matter of taste and timing. I will say that those comparing him to MJ, The Gap Band, Radiohead, etc. must be listening to a different Prince. I can understand people liking them but, c'mon, are they really on the same level?

As for David Bowie, I'm just getting into him and I'm beginning to feel it. Stevie's up there with P as well. The Beatles, while not one of my personal favorites, get their respect as does JB and the Funkadelics as true pioneers in their respective styles. I like many of the artists mentioned: Sade, Erykah Badu, Miles Davis, Led Zeppelin, etc. as well as others such as Charles Mingus, Yes, Outkast, Gang Starr, Earth Wind & Fire etc. Having said that none of the aforementioned apart from Stevie made me excited to get their next album in the way I once was with Prince.

The only artists I've really dug as much as Prince are Hendrix who did as much in four or five years as Prince in 20 and my current favorite, Ani Difranco, who brings a great spirit to her music like Prince has. She is by far the better lyricist, her music is inspiring, creative and is much more relevant. I guess you can say I like her more now than I do Prince but ask me again in 10 years or 10 days for that matter and who knows? :shrug
