Kate Bush
Michael Jackson
Bee Gees
The Beatles
Led Zeppelin
David Bowie
Stevie Wonder
Fleetwood Mac
Radiohead
Steely Dan

All equally as good as Prince in my opinion.

I almost like Björk just as much as Prince.

Björk and her music is so cool, such a creative artist and using mix of electronic sounds and instruments & strings!

Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson are my musical heroes, but I've always loved me some Prince. He's definately in my top 5 favorite artists.
Michael never stopped!

I like The Beatles & Led Zeppelin more than Prince. However, I have more CDs by Prince (offical, boot, & associates) than either one of those acts.

I wonder if anybody who posted here spends the same amount of time on websites of the folks they say they like more.

My answer to the question is simply NOPE!

Prince is #1 and always will be, but Carlos Santana is a close 2nd. I also love Bob Dylan too.

i like MJ just as much.

tho, im more into prince at the moment cause mj isnt doing much...

I used to...MJ hasn't done anything for awhile except bitch/complain about Sony, Tommy Mottolla, etc. I just wish he'd shut-up and write some music.

Earth to Summerdawn, Prince is STILL bitching/complaining about WB ten years after the event, infact i don't think he'll ever stop whining about something which was HIS fault. The Sony thing was two years ago, MJ hasn't mentioned it since.

Earth to Marrk...Prince is still putting out something at least; no matter what you think of his new stuff. Michael's last vain attempt at music was what, 'Blood on the Dance Floor'? Did you see the video? My 2 year old niece could've done a better job at filming the damn thing. Trust me, I was a HUGE MJ fan. I have the majority of everything ever issued about him. I used to stick up for him when everyone around me would bash him but I got tired of doing it. If he wants folks to stop looking at him like a freak, maybe he should stop acting like one. I'm not saying Prince hasn't done some freaky shit in the past either, so don't even try to come back at me on that one. I've always been a big fan of both; my musical tastes have changed though and I look forward to what Prince puts out more than MJ. For right now, Prince is at the very top of the pile and that's my $.02. You like who you like and I like who I like, but please don't try to defend MJ here...go to Mike's website instead.

I thought you'd already replied to me further up the thread, perhaps i'm mistaken.

Just because it's predominantly a Prince site, doesn't make it an MJ-bashing zone.I'm not the only Prince/MJ fan here by any means, hence MJ topics start from time to time (of which i've started only one)

I am here to discuss Prince but i'll happily chat other artists, same as alot of folks here.As for going to Mike's sites, i do and often.sometimes to defend Prince! strange world. lol

BTW ex-'Huge MJ fans' such as you claim to be, tend to maintain a modicum of respect for the man and his music, and don't resort to using terms such as 'Freak' to describe him.Not that i'm questioning the validity of your claim or anything...whistling

Cosign. Bob Marley is true soul, music from the soul, for the soul. It don't get anymore real then that.

Even though Prince and I are and odds right now and I'm feverishly cheating on him with other music while his CDs collect dust on the shelf ... I WILL NEVER LOVE ANOTHER ARTIST MORE THAN PRINCE.

I think he will always be my first choice in the piles, for making me appreciate music in ways I never imagined, but I must say I appreciate and feel to have the most respect for The Beatles.. They were doin their thang before the majority was, and they set some major standards. I dont think I have to mention how beautiful and timeless their music is, it speaks for itself. The Beatles music is so above and beyond. Period.

I have to say Mike Patton, he does so many different things and is so unconventional. He blows me away sometimes. I dont want to compare but a new group with Patton, or a new Prince CD on the same shelf, only money for one? Prince gets it. Then I will go to the ATM and come right back for Pattons latest project.

He's the former vocalist for Faith No More. He has to be the best white male vocalist on my list. He's known for Faith No More but he gets a bad rap for it. He's friggin crazy. Check out Disco Valenta by Mr bungle. One of my favs. He also did Lovage with Daneil Merrywether. Some great stuff, he can really sing, I mean really sing and he plays some weird instruments. ( sorry about the spelling, Im hopeless with out spell check!)
