I agree that Come and Batman are both dark LPs. I'm not so sure about 1999, I supose it's kinda dark!I agree that 1999 is dark, its got a raw uncertianty about the message in most songs.. 1999, little red, automatic, something in the water, all the critics.. Its got a lot of anger and emotion flowin in the album, some of it consisting in a positive manner.. its just brilliant as far as im concerned... plus, its very unedited feeling.  | |

did you get it used???
Come is availible at almost any used CD store for $6.99 or less. It's a great album but didnt appeal to the mainstream. Prince still had a lot of mainstream fans then and most of them sold that album back. I always check the used bins for Prince stuff. Never know what you will find. 'Come' is in my top 3 Prince albums from the 90's.It's improved with age IMO.
Still hate 'Solo' though.Vocal dexterity bollocks for the sake of it.Showoff.  |

I honestly don't get what's so good about Dance With The Devil.
I thought it was rather non-eventful I can see why it wasn't released. I do wonder where the track came from though, I mean the first bootleg to have it on was Moonrakers CD of the same name right - so was it newly acquired - like was it dug out of the vault for a project - like Crystal Ball for e.g. - , or was someone holding onto it for a while? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
