Those funny conspiracy theories. I just love them. People who believe this got brainwashed by NPGMC.

Since Prince has taken his career completely in his own hands, he has managed to get it down the drain.
He did not need any help from anyone to do so.

As long as he's making good music (TRC) and does not get broke, this is o.k. for me.
As long as he's playing silly NPGMC games (expensive CD releases, stupid websites, uncomplete concert DVDs)
this is just annoying.

If this is true why then did after the contract signing in 1992 did WB stop promoting Prince (Symbol) records?

The late, great Barry White said in 1994 that ..."if the record company does not want you to have a #1 record you wont have one.I dont care WHO you are."(BET interview w/Donnie Simpson)

Many who remain in the industry(WB leftovers & LA Reid)hate Prince so why do you think a little sabotage will not enter into things just to rub it in.

Some of you are willing to believe the Boolshite about the NPGMC but poo poo theories about these corporate music people is an example of your own bias toward Prince.

That's the funny thing. Prince can stop WB doing stuff with his back catalouge, so they're not making money. But what he wants is to have the masters ASAP so he can do all this re-issues to make him LOADS of money. fair enough, some people would it's his to exploit... but P likes to make this a moral crusade. when it's just greed.[/quote]

Why not ?

It is not greed, hell he is trying to take care of Prince 20-30 years from now.

WBI will make $1 dollar to every $0.01 cents Prince makes on another release.

If you created something wouldn't you want the maximum amount of money off it's sale ?

Prince is trying to get what is his .My problem with Prince is that he rushed out of the contract without getting his masters.

Well, let's be honest here. After 1992,Prince was feuding with Warners, badmouthing them in every interview. And he was giving them crappy albums just to fulfill his contract. Also,it's pretty difficult to promote an artist who changes his name to an unprouncable symbol. When he finally did give them a decent album ('The Gold Experience'),he withheld the video for the first single ("I Hate U").So,as you can see,it wouldn't be fair to put the blame solely on Warners,as far as promotion goes.

True .

I found out that after the 92 contract signing several WB bigwigs & Prince backers left or was fired. So that caused some problems with Prince.

The whole Gold thing was total boolshite from all sides.

I can see Prince's point. Why release videos ect, ect,if the shit is not promoted properly?

I wish a neutral party could come in and tell the truth about what happened.
