Maybe Prince Needs To Pull A Sly Stone...

...and chill out for thirty years or so.

If he just walked away from it all right now and took a few decades to maybe raise a family, read a few books, take some pottery classes or something...maybe the good shit he's done will rise back to the top and all the stupidity will be forgotten.

Isn't Sly Stone on drugs lately? I hope I'm mistaken tho, but I hear this everywhere I go.

However, Crutis Mayfield enjoyed his "relaxed" years!

Sly´s supposedly drugfree & living a laidback
content life according 2 his family but he keep
such an extremely low profile that nobody really
don´t know anything about his life 2day.

Nah. As long as I know it'll spite you, I'll stick around.

Thanks for the motivation.

Where is he living at?

In L.A somewhere recording music.I read an article
that the dude handling Sly´s former homepage did
supposedly got 2 see Sly at his home.
He´d look like 20 years younger his age & played him
some songs that brought tears in his eyes cuz his
genious was still there. Also his sister Rose have been
saying that it´s a shame Sly´s new stuff don´t get out
cuz it´s really that good.I suppose Sly don´t want 2 get
involved with the crazy circus of the record industry
again.Maybe he feel a pressure 2 face his huge legacy,
I don´t know.I sure hope it´s true that he´s recording
& that we get 2 hear it someday.

It's sad, Sly is the J.D. Salinger of funk - but it's his prerogative. He stepped out of the scene while he still had some legend left, and now his status as an infamous exile from the public eye has only added to his legacy.

I think as long as he's happy, that's all that matters. It could be argued that walking away from the public eye was an act of genius, even though we would all love to hear some new Sly music...I know I would...
