What Does It Take To Meet "The Man"? Man, one of these days I would truly like to meet Prince.
I'm a person who doesn't care to meet celebrities for the sake of them being "stars", but with Prince it's different. He's affected my life in such a positive way that I'd just want to meet him, shake his hand and say 'thanks'. You know? I know he's very shy, and/or reclusive when it comes to meeting folks, but I have also noticed that he's changed a lot in the past few years, making himself more accessible to peeps. If there's a way, what would it be? I'm not rich, nor am I in Minneapolis... so, it doesn't look like I'll be just hoppin' on a plane and going there... If he's in town, I make every effort to check the show out... Still, in the long run... maybe it's for the better that I don't meet him, I'd probably just 'clam-up' and look stupid... Anyone with info/ideas? Who's met him? What was it like? Do tell... |

I like to think of him as heaven sent Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Woman, you're a sick fool but hey maybe you're right I neva met the guy(hell I neva SAW him live either) I'd love to see his show but I don't know about meeting him. After reading the Alex Han book and the reaction of many fans, I'm not really that excited about meeting him. Its funnty & sad how we believe the negative and leave the positive.

I was at the jam of the year concert in Milwaukee and was hanging out in the main isle and was talking with a security gurad about kids etc... and rev. mike walked up and got involved in the conversation and then invited me for a drink at the aftershow set. I wasn't sure if he was serious but we wnt to Kickers anyway and I sat by the rear entrance of the bar and sure enough they all came in!! Rev mike walked right up to me baught me a drink and chatted. it was amazing!! I was surrounded by Prince's whole enteroge! After talking for a while mike asked me If i would like to meet him- OF COURSE!!! lol Then he gave me a list of "dont's" such as ..make any sudden moves etc... he then walked me directly over to prince and introduced me. I was 2-3 feet away from his face. I was cool...I was maintaining..lol i thanked him for the beautiful music and inspirations. he smiled and said thank you and put his sucker back in his mouth. Ok this is when i lost it!! lol I did not know what else to say so I turned around and walked back to my seat with the band members and proceeded to loose it!!! I was shakin' Knees knockin...I was in shock. of course I now wish i had been more prepared...but thats my little story. I also got to grab his silky booty at a chicago theatre show..had front row and could not resist..he did not flinch! but that silk he wears...incredible stuff!!

I am very jealous. You got to meet him and touch that silky booty:nuts: So I am curious what the do's and don't's were. And maybe you should bring doritos, but what about the Captain Crunch with Soy milk?

I'd rather meet him without all the do's and dont's. Gimme a break! That would kill my whole high of "OMG, Im about to meet Prince!" I wouldnt even want to because I would feel restricted and overtly watched. I'll see/meet him someday and hopefully it will be a freewill thing. &

Now I'm curious too. What ARE the do's and don'ts of meeting lil purple? Was one of them seriously "don't make any sudden moves", or did you just make that shit up? Makes him sound like a scared chipmunk or sumthin... "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Actually, I honestly have no interest in ever meeting Prince.
As a kid I used to think it would be pretty cool to meet my musical heroes, such as Prince. However I'm older now, and have heard lots of accounts of meetings and interviews with Prince over the years... and something tells me we wouldn't get along very well, which would be disappointing. I disagree with so many of his opinions, and his world-view is so different to mine that I doubt we'd have much to say to each other. No doubt he's a nice guy when you get to know him, but I get the impression that he is shy with people he doesn't know and so feels the need to appear "enigmatic" spouting rhetorical quasi-religious mumbo jumbo. I have zero interest in a conversation like that. I'll just keep enjoying his music. I don't need to meet him, or shake his hand, or be his friend, or make him aware of my existence
