Which P cds deserve the full repackaged/anniversary treatment.

With all this talk about the 20th Anniversary P.Rain cd / DVD for next yera , which others do you think deserve the full works i.e. remastered, new notes, out takes etc. Mine , in order, would be:-

Prince [Just to hear out takes from then]
1999
P. Rain
Parade
SOTT
Lovesexy
Gold

D&P + Symbol cd if the rap was moved!!.

What about you.

i'd say everything up until Batman. Anything after that should come later on. The 90s stuff hasn't matured good enuff yet.

I agree with this. The mastering and production of his early work could really use some help from modern technology.

there are so many outtakes from every album, how do i choose? well, i guess purple rain because all of theosse songs were longer before the record was actually released and it would be cool to have the "full" version of the cd, including electric intercourse. after that, 1999, controversy, dirty mind. and how about the official release of crystal ball or camille?

"Dirty Mind"
"1999"
"Around The World In A Day"
"Sign "O" The Times"

Because these albums have the most interesting/amazing outtakes...

As long as he doesn't go editing the songs (can you imagine Darling Nikki no longer masturbating with a magazine in a hotel lobby but instead reading the New Translation in the Kingdom Hall???) every album is worth being remastered.

First to do: Dirty Mind because of Head and Prince...don't forget: no editing, I don't think the song will sound that great as an instrumental, although it can become quite a karaoke hit lol

Everything from For You to Lovesexy (inc. Black Album)

I know it'll never happen, but I'd like to see some of the related artists stuff on CD/re-issued.

Maybe Sheila E's Glamorous Life stands the closest chance confuse

If Prince getting his masters back included all the related artists stuff, and he had plans to re-issue it on CD etc, I would definately support him, but I know the little cricket doesn't do it that way.

There's no way he'll release anything that he now considers "naughty," which is pretty much everything from back in the day. That's part of the reason why the Purple Rain teaser is such horseshit...you think the JW's would be okay with him having anything to do with Apples' tits being shown on the screen?

my choices for re-packaging is 1999,dirty mind &
the original Crystal BAll.

and how about putting out a Time box-set with all of
their released and outtakes stuff?

(supposedly there's a version of 'THE BIRD" with jesse
on the lead vocal. that would be cool to hear)

I think you're right on it. Up to and not including "Batman". I liked "Batman" but at the end of the day, Prine and Warners didn't!
