My take on the "Ways of the Pharoahs"

Prince was undermined for years by WB -- oftentimes with great subtleness. He is now embittered and ready to snatch the covers off!

"Mirror, mirror what U see?
Have I still got those dark clouds over me?
Or am I really feeling what I feel?
The last days of the devil's deal
Oh mirror, what U see?"

Prince is now truly UNDERGROUND while he wages a war -- he's talkin' about all this crap in cryptic riddles throughout his music... it is CRAZY!

Look at so many of his GREAT side projects that were allowed to die in the dirt, acts such as Jill Jones, due to lack of promotion. And make no mistake about it: Prince was the Dream Factory!

At a certain time in his career he was the Wizard of Oz... what amazes me STILL is how utterly creative he was during his heyday! Prince was Vanity/Apollonia 6, The Time, Jill Jones, Sheila E., Madhouse, etc.

I believe that Prince created many powerful enemies at WB with his decisions to NOT conform, but more importantly because he almost seemed to be the Zeitgeist, millions of people couldn't be wrong, right?

Looking at these releases that he is "pissing and moaning" about you do begin to see a certain pattern emerging. I've read many reports that cited the idea that a 3-disc set Crystal Ball as too extravagent and unmarketable -- yet looking over this list I see a triple set:
Around The World In A Day / Parade / Controversy that roughly coincided with the release of "The Hits" package (yet another triple album). And we know how he felt about the OFFICIAL TRIPLE SET, so you can imagine his feelings about the UNOFFICIAL release cited here. I use this as a simple example.

Don't believe the hype, although we may ridicule Prince's business acumen, you must admit that he made some rather good choices. Is he ahead of the curve again?
La, la, la
He, he, hee!

No, not the curve. He's gone round the bend.
There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently
